Noticed this once, but when I’m hard accelerating and going from like 60-80MPH and transmission upshifts from 5,000 RPMs down to around 4,000 RPMs it makes what sounds similar to the whine of a turbo. But this car does not have a turbo so what could it be?

Hi,

By chance, has the check engine light come on? If so, have you had the system scanned for diagnostic trouble codes? Also, have you checked the transmission fluid level and condition?

Let me know that first. However, I know the transmission warranty has been extended due to issues with shift quality and other issues. You may want to contact a dealer to see if this is related.

If you have already contacted a dealership, then we need to start by scanning the can-bus to see if there are related codes.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

Let me know if you have questions or if this helps you.

Take care,
