While driving trac off indicator lights up and shifts into low gear?

While traveling in drive my car's Trac off indicator lit up, security light on. The trac of light just came on and it won’t accelerate. Turn ignition off take out key restart it and drive for a few miles same thing happens.

Hi,

Was it only the traction control lamp, or did the ABS or brake lamp turn on as well? Also, the security light is interesting. If you have a different key, try it to see if the security lamp turns on.

What I feel we will need to do is have the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. I say that because there are a few things that can cause the traction control light to turn on.

If you don't have a scanner and feel it is safe to drive to a parts store, most of them will do it free of charge. Once it's done, let me know what codes are found.
