Few days back I had problem of raise of temperature in my car (getting hot while driving specially when AC was turned on). I got it checked with mechanic who told that radiator was leaky and replaced it. He advised to change gear oil and gear filter too.
Right now car temperature is perfect and apparently there is no problem in gear smoothness or gear function. My question is:
Do I really need to change gear oil and gear filter or not?

Hello, I am Danny.

It is always advisable to follow manufacturers service/maintenance intervals to keep the longevity of your vehicle going. Your vehicles service recommendation for the automatic transmission fluid and filter be changed every 60,000 miles. I have attached a picture of your vehicles required amount and type. I have also attached a link showing how to perform a transmission fluid change. The biggest factor to having a transmission failure is heat and contaminated/dirty fluid. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.
