Good afternoon.

The procedure is below. I attached a picture of the fill plug for you.

I use the one quart bottles and put a hose on the end of the bottle and squeeze the fluid into the transmission. Add until it starts to come out of the transmission.

Roy

1. With the vehicle in neutral, position it on a hoist.

2. Turn the ignition to the "off" position.

3. Remove the splash shield retainers and remove the left hand splash shield.

4. Note: If an integral problem is suspected, drain the transmission fluid through a paper filter. A small amount of metal or friction particles may be found from normal wear. However, if excessive metal and friction particles are present, internal service will be required.

Remove the drain plug and drain the transmission fluid.

5. Remove the fill plug on the side of the transaxle.

6. Note: After the transmission fluid has been drained, clean the drain plug threads and apply a small amount of thread sealant to the threads.

Install the drain plug.

- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

7. Notice: Use only clean transmission fluid specific for this transmission. Do not use any supplemental transmission fluid additives or cleaning agents. The use of these products can cause internal transmission components to fail, which will affect the operation of the transmission.

Fill the transaxle with clean transmission fluid as specified until the level reaches the bottom of the fill plug hole.

8. Note: Clean the area around the fill plug removing transmission fluid that may have spilled on the transaxle case.

Install the fill plug.

- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

As this has the CVT transmission it is very picky about the fluid used (Mercon LV) and the level. To change the fluid you raise the vehicle so it is level and remove the left front tire. Then remove the left hand (drivers) splash shield under the vehicle. (Picture 1) Then you remove the drain plug in the bottom of the transmission pan. (Picture 2)
If you suspect any internal issues or just want to check on the transmission drain it using a funnel with a mesh filter (paint strainers inside the funnel work good for this).
Once drained, clean off the plug and the pan threads and apply a small amount of Teflon thread sealer to the plug threads and tighten the drain to 30 ft. Lbs.
Now look on the side of the trans-axle and you will see the fill plug (picture 3). Clean around it and remove it. Add new fluid unit it is just level with the fill port. Clean the plug threads and apply Teflon thread sealant. Install the plug and tighten to 30 ft. Lbs.
Reinstall the splash shield and the tire, lower the vehicle and you are done. Other than cleaning up the tools.
