When the engine gets hot it will stop running and not restart

Hi,

What you are describing sounds like a bad crankshaft position sensor (aka, RPM sensor). When they start going bad, oftentimes they are adversely affected by heat causing the engine to stall. Once it cools off, the engine will restart.
