When replacing the transmission without a lift, is it easier to remove the engine transmission assembly on the subframe then remove the transmission or pull the transmission on your back?

Don't have a lift and want to support the van by its frame and roll the engine transmission assembly out the front.

Good afternoon,
Without a lift, it makes the job much more difficult.
It would be easier to drop the subframe with the engine and transmission together and then separate the transmission after it is removed.
