What all is included when replacing front and rear brakes and hardware

Normally, When you go to a shop the shop advertised service just includes resurface or replace front rotors and rear discs or drums.Install front pads and rear brake shoes with labor cost.Only if the technician notices any other defects or concerns then report to customer for additional cost.Yes, defective hardware can cause multi brake problems and conditions.Also, When you see those advertised brake specials on television or roadside banners it is for the bare minimum of service.Hope this answers your question and thanks for using 2CarPros.

You were correct for the front. But for the rear you can get a wheel cylinder (if leaking) and drum hardware but no pin guides or boots. I've attached a picture below of the rear drum hardware for your eclipse. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Perfect. I replaced the wheel cylinders and did a bleed a year ago. So I'll be skipping those this time around. So I will be getting:

Front:
Disc brake hardware
Caliper bolt / pin guides
Pin boots

Rear:
Drum hardware

Just to make sure, I only need 2 guide pins and corresponding pin boots right? Just making sure I don't need 2 for each side.

Also, we bled the brake fluid and replaced the wheel cylinders on the rear axle a year ago because they were leaking.

For the actual brake calipers, is that something that shouldn't need to be replaced unless you neglected your brakes real bad and allowed them to get damaged? Just wondered if this is ever a scheduled maintenance item. I had a thorough inspection when he did the wheel cylinders and they must have checked out. Just wanting to double check.

Yes, you will need 2 pins and 2 boots per side. Be sure to use hi-temperature or wheel bearing grease to lube them for installation. Just apply a light coat by hand covering the whole surface.As for the calipers themselves, No, They are not a scheduled service item. Thanks for that info. I should have asked about quantity originally. In regards to disc brake hardware kit, I'm referring to what's in this picture. I seem to have my answer though, the kit has hardware for 2 calipers.

Yes, the picture I provided for the rear drum hardware is a pair and will work for both sides.You can also buy a hardware kit for an individual side depending on budget or circumstances.
