Started running funny today. When I started it it hesitated and when I went to accelerate it barely moved and shut down. I had to restart it and try over and over. Finally I figured out once I get it over 1 RPM and keep it there it will keep running but if it gets lower it will shut off.

Hi,

When over 1,000 RPMs, does it run normally, or is it still running poorly? I'm trying to determine if there is an idle issue or something related to fuel pressure, a plugged catalytic converter, or where to start.

Let me know. Also, let me know if the check engine light is staying on while the engine is running. If it is, have the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes.

Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

Also, I realize most people don't own a scanner. However, oftentimes a parts store will do it for you free of charge. If you have it done, let me know what codes are found.

One last thing. If it is only related to stalling at idle, take a look through this link and see if anything helps:

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe
