Hello, every time I hit my brakes my car keeps shaking violently. I replaced the brake stabilizer and brake pads first I then replaced the rotor and the it is still shaking. I then took it to a local mechanic and he had no idea of what it could be after all of that being done. So my question is, do you have any idea of what it could be? I did get the brake stabilizer from a junkyard could that be the reason because it was defective?

If the new pads were used with old rotors that may be the problem, if everything is tight like caliper bolts and mounting bolts for brackets. Otherwise have the front end checked like control arm bushings and other mounts. Also, move tires to rear of car and rear to front and see if anything changes.

Do you feel the shaking in the steering wheel or more in the seat? If it's the seat you might want to check the rear brakes as well. Generally something in the front end effects one wheel or the other so it will shake the wheel side-side. Something in the rear acts on the chassis more so you feel it in the seat more than the steering wheel.
