So, I just replaced both front wheel bearings about two weeks ago but I still hearing a wheel bearing-like noise. The noise does not change when turning left or right. It’s constant and gets louder the faster I go. Today, I lifted it up to spin each wheel and feel for loose play. Rear wheels seem fine. I didn't feel any play or vibration in the coil springs. But I noticed my passenger front side wheel only spun freely for about 5 seconds. Then, my driver's front wheel spun freely for about 14 seconds. So, at first, I was thinking I had a seized caliper. I also need to replace/rebuild the cv axle on my passenger side since the inner boot has been torn and grease has been slinging around a bit.
Could a seized caliper or leaky CV axle cause a wheel bearing-like noise?
I am running BFG KO2s and I swapped the spare tire on the side where I thought the noise was coming from but there was no difference. I’m thinking about rotating the front tires to the rear to see if the noise follows but wanted to get some feedback so I can consider any other checks while troubleshooting.
