If the check engine light is on, scan the computer to determine diagnostic trouble codes. Many parts stores will do it for free. If you have a scanner, here is a quick video that shows it being done:

If there are no codes, I question fuel pressure. To me, it sounds like a fuel pressure issue. That is the first thing I would suggest checking.

Here are the manufacturer's specs for required fuel pressure.
Fuel System Pressure .................... 400 ± 34 kPa (58 ± 5 psi)
Check that and let me know what you find. Also, in the link, it explains how to also check the fuel pressure regulator. Make sure you do that too.
