I started to hear a small clunking noise (when I hit little bumps in the road) from my rear driver side, and when I got it up on the jack, it appears I need to replace these two bars. I am attaching these 2 photos. I took the photos from underneath the rear of the car, so the 2 that need to be replaced are the furthest back and the middle. They are straight and appear to be the same type of link. I need the proper name please so I can purchase them. Both on driver side rear. Thank you!

Hi,

I attached a picture below of the components. I need to confirm what number the part you are pointing at as identified in the picture. It appears to be a lateral link, but I can't see the one end.

Note, pic 2 below is from you. If you remove that, you will need to have an alignment. Notice that the flat washer behind the nut isn't round. That is an eccentric. It is how the camber is set on the rear wheels.

Let me know.

Joe

Here is a video so you can have a closer look. I hope this helps. I believe they’re both 16s but then again might be 2s. I can’t tell but I hope this video can help us.
I think you are correct in me needing an alignment once that is touched. That’s fine, my tire shop is close. However, there are 2 separate links that need replacing, hence the two photos. Please help me differentiate if they are the same part and which part they are. Thank you.

Hi,

The one that is centered appears to be a lower control arm. The other is a lateral link. Let me know if that helps.

Hi Joe. Yes, one is a lateral link. Everyone I have asked can only see that the other bar is called a control arm as well, but it isn’t exactly that. I cannot find the part anywhere, calling it a control arm. It’s some sort of suspension link for the upper control arm I believe. With typing in control arm and calling around parts shops, they all have the same answer: control arm. I hope this helps... It’s not the name but the part looks the exact same as the lateral link, so maybe the name is another suspension link? I do not know, but I will be physically going to the parts store today for a print out with the parts labeled if possible. Like I mentioned, the parts look the exact same. One might latch on different, but looking at the video it looks the same to me. I cannot figure it out without the labeled parts. Thank you for your help.

Hi,

Are you able to identify it in the exploded view I attached above? Also, take a look at the pic below. It identifies the different parts. Let me know what it is and I'll try to get you the part number.

Let me know,

Joe

Hi! It’s the lower arm, thank you. I’ve contacted my parts store and they have it in stock. Thanks for the labeled image!

Makaila,

You are very welcome. I wish I would have found that pic sooner. I attached the directions from my manual for you. It is a straightforward job. I thought the directions may help at least for the torque specifications.

Regardless, if you have a chance, let me know how things turn out for you.

Take care,

Joe
