what's the diffenace in a starter and a starter motor.I am tying to repired my starter, and want to know if they are they same.can i put a statet motor my car instead of a stater don't has anything else answere

The starter is an electric motor, along with a gear reduction unit and a solenoid to engage the unit, so it is often called a "starter motor". Both terms mean the same thing, just like a light and a light bulb are the same thing.
