Car wouldn't start changing starter now it's making this noise.

Hello,
It sounds like the starter Bendix gear is either staying engaged or is touching the ring gear of the flex plate.
I would suggest removing the starter again and comparing the Bendix gear with the old starter. It might be longer than the original gear. See image below.
