What would this issue be, Is it the alternator?

while driving the ABS, Brake, battery lights all came on, the speedometer stopped working, all lights dimmed inside and out and there was a weird loud noise, as well as an odd smell, as soon as we got home and stopped, the car turned off on us and won’t start?

This could be the battery or alternator, I would remove the battery and take it to the auto parts store for testing and once the car is running again test the alternator using this guide:
