overheating after changing the water pump, thermostat, sensor and radiator

No water in oil. No white smoke. I have bled it quite a few times to get air out of the coolant system. It continues to bubble off and on and it will get 3/4 of the way hot and then go back down to normal.

The symptoms you listed are typical of a leaking cylinder head gasket. Your mechanic can perform a chemical test at the coolant reservoir to check for that. Do not go looking for the less common and more elusive stuff until the head gasket is ruled out.
