What type of adhesive?

What is the adhesive that you are using to tack your gaskets before installing them?

Depends on the gasket, head gaskets get nothing. Valve covers get a thin coat of Permatex aviation non-hardening on the valve cover side. Paper gaskets get a spray of high tack like Permatex 80065, RTV in place of the end seals on the intake.
