Last night i got stuck in what i thought was slushy snow, turns out it was a frozen over slush/water puddle. right when i got my car unstuck, the engine rattled and sputtered, and the check engine light came on. i immediately turned my car off, but i needed to move out of the road so i turned it back on and there weren’t any noises or anything, i was able to pull a few feet off the road, but the check engine light was still on.
I've read i possibly could’ve hydro locked my engine, but I'm not sure if i did since it still starts and there weren’t any more noises. I'm wondering what i should do, should i try to drive it to an auto shop to get the engine light diagnosed? i checked the oil and there’s still enough in there, I've let my car sit overnight and in the sun all afternoon.
