That would depend on the engine and how the belt is routed, however looking at the three available engines that year you cannot just use a shorter belt as the way it is routed the belt wouldn't clear other engine parts if the A/C pulley isn't there. You might be able to get a bypass pulley, but I don't see one listed to fit in place of that compressor. The images are the 2.0 and the 1.5 and the tensioner is in the way on both of them.
