Transmission started to slip. Added one pint of transmission fluid, the level was at bottom line of dipstick. Drove three miles and unit did not want to shift in third gear only first and second. By the time I got it home and stopped at my house, the car only had reverse. All forward gears are gone!

Probably a major internal failure. You can get a live data read to see what is happening with solenoids and a line pressure test to check hydraulic pressure, but i would first pull the pan and look at the condition of the oil. if burnt and smells bad and there is metal and silver specks in the oil, it is probably due to a major internal failure and a re-build or replacement will be required.
