After having the oil changed while driving there was a "low pressure" message, battery started draining and the engine started knocking and.

I recently bought the car listed above, brand new, in 2020. Everything was going well. I recently went on a trip that was about a 270-mile drive there and back. I went to go get an oil change at a Jiffy Lube before leaving. Everything was going well with the trip until the drive back. While on the freeway it started to say “pressure low”. Then it started to say that the battery was dying, so I pulled off the freeway and pulled over immediately. Once I did that, the car made this really loud knocking noise and then shut off. A jumpstart didn’t work as it did the same thing. Start, knocking noise, and shut off. So, we had to get it towed. Some other details about the trip; I put 91 gas in the car and I accidentally ran over a big orange traffic cone. Could these be the reasons why my engine is having problems?

Hi,

I don't see how the cone would have damaged anything and the fuel is not an issue. Is the engine oil clean and full? If you got an oil pressure warning and there is a knocking, either the oil is extremely low, or the oil pump has failed.

Could you let me know the condition of the engine oil? Also, let me know if you notice any tan creamy substance on the dipstick or oil cap.

Let me know.

Joe
