On the passenger side, if you are inside and need to open the door, you pull the handle from inside and it unlocks the door. I am looking for the rod that connects from inside the door panel from that door pull handle to the mechanism. There are so many out there and it is hard to figure out. It should be a long one with some bends on it. Like this one in the picture with the mesh net on it.

I included everything from trim panel removal, water shield removal, to latch removal, for the front door. There's just as much information for the rear door that I didn't copy, format, and post. I can add that if you need it. In the 15th panel they make reference to, "door handle latch release link (4)".

Due to the age of the vehicle, I doubt you're going to find a replacement at the dealership unless the same part was used on newer models too. A salvage yard is the perfect place to find a replacement. Look for one of the "pick-your-own-parts" yards where you bring your toolbox and you can spend all day there if you want to.

Thanks. Will parts from a 2005 work?

Probably, but the only way to know for sure is to have someone at the dealer's parts department look up the part numbers for both years. If they're the same numbers, they're the same parts. Historically Chrysler has been real good about parts interchangeability between years and models.
