What is involved in replacing the inner boots of the cv joints?

Problem both inner boots are cracked and need to be replaced.

if the boots have cracked open then the grease is gone out of joints and hard telling for how long just replace the axle shafts. note remove axle nut prior to jacking car up see pics.
