I have to run about 5 feet of wire from under the steering column to the window switches on the center console (I am replacing the tan wire). I don't want to cause any electrical problems or fires down the road. What gauge wire would be perfect for this?

Good morning,

For a 15 amp fuse, I would use 16 gauge wire. That will safely handle the current load.

It says it is a 40a fuse coming from my power distribution center.. I can't find any fuse for the window switch in the interior fuse block. Everything I read says to use 12 gauge.. Would it still be the same? The only thing i am stuck on is what dag on gauge to use.
I appreciate it!!

Sorry, the video you posted was not clear at all and looked like 15 amp.

For a 40 amp fuse, yes, use at least a 12 gauge wire. A 10 gauge would be better as it will carry more than 40.
