The belt slip off the car the battery light came on it begin to make all the lights come on. I made it to park then the battery died that’s when I realized the belt was off after looking under the hood. I replaced the belt and tensioner. The issue still continued so I replaced the battery and alternator. What could be the real issue?

Hello,

This could be a problem with the tensioner failing and causing the serpentine belt to slip off. To be sure that the tensioner is the problem, though, I have included in the diagrams down below a simple diagnostic troubleshooting guide for excessive drive belt slipping off the pulleys. This is from the vehicle manufacturer and should help you pin down the exact reason for this. Please go through this guide and get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex

Good morning,

Can you check the voltage at the battery with the engine running?

What lights are still on?

Do you have a code reader to give me the codes?
