After replacing the starter, the engine cranked and ran, then it would not crank, what could be my issue?

After replacing the starter my car cranked and ran for 5hrs. Then it didn't crank any more. Battery and alternator are both good.

Hi,

Do you mean the starter motor is no longer working? If that is the case, have you checked to make sure nothing is loose on the starter as far as the wire connections? Will it start if you place it in neutral, will it start?

If this is correct and the new starter motor no longer works, take a look through this link to see if anything helps:

Also, I need to know if the vehicle has a smart key or a traditional type of key. The wiring schematics are different and I'm not sure which one to look through.

Let me know.

Joe
