I have a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with flex fuel. Romeo. I just had my tank drop due to the tank straps breaking from rust and now the tank leaks. I am having trouble figuring out what aftermarket fuel tank will fit my model. From what I can see a spectra premium f42e will fit, but the whole roll over valve-flat style and roll over valve- push in style are confusing me. There was one that said it was notched also. While the Police Interceptor flex fuel variation says it fits my vehicle but does not specify ROV or a notch. Does my vehicle require a Police Interceptor with push in style ROV or no? I just do not want to order the wrong tank because I am swapping everything from old tank onto new tank and they must fit together. I am also getting a lock ring pump seal, straps and hardware and fuel filter. Just FYI. Please help me decide what cheaper aftermarket tank to get. Please oh please!

Good evening.

I would use the ROV style.

I found it at Rockauto for just a little over $100.00. You do not need the notch. I used to work on the police cars and this is a direct fit.

Awesome, thanks a bunch. Should I buy any other seals or should I wait to see if I can remove the old ones in one peace when swaping fuel components from old to new tank? I did see they were quit expensive for pieces of rubber so I am leaning towards not buying new. One more thing. Should I replace the fuel pump or whole fuel sending unit assembly? Even though it seems to be in good shape or just replace it anyways? Just need someone else's opinion other than my girlfriend's two cents, lol. Thanks

You can use the old rubbers on the new straps.

Yes, replace the fuel pump assembly with the sender.

You may have to change over the seals. I do not believe they come with the tank.

Just to be clear, you recommend the spectra ROV flat style (f42e) and not the Liland Global Police Interceptor (IF42e), correct?

Why can after manufacturers not just specify what goes to what and what does not! Simple, right? Maybe a detailed picture of the differences between the parts that are or are not compatible with the product you sell, ya know. So we know what to buy. JS end of rant!

Seems like every time I have to do an in-tank pump there is always at least a full tank of gas! Grrr!
