Hello,

The procedure is fairly straight forward, you can get to the switch by removing the driver front wheel. See the instructions below and the diagram attached:

Removal Procedure

Notice: When removing or installing the backup lamp switch, do not use an open-end wrench. Use only a socket in order to avoid damage to the switch assembly.

1. Remove the left front wheel.
2. Disconnect the backup lamp connector (1).
3. Remove the backup lamp switch assembly.

Installation Procedure

Notice: When removing or installing the backup lamp switch, do not use an open-end wrench. Use only a socket in order to avoid damage to the switch assembly.

1. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the backup lamp switch. Using pipe sealant Saturn P/N 21485278 or equivalent.

Tighten the switch to 33 Nm (24 ft. Lbs.).

2. Connect the backup lamp connector (1).
3. Install the left front wheel.

Are there two switches or just one? Because the diagram shows two of them and it looks like it is an automatic and mine is a 5 speed.

There is one switch, it will be the switch labeled as (1). However the diagram is for an automatic transmission, I will search for a manual diagram and report back. But it is just as straight forward.

Hi,

Seems like the backup light switch for the manual transmission is directly on top of it. See the picture below. Let us know how it goes.
