I own the vehicle listed above Lapin - slightly different from the Alto, but that model was not an option on the site since they are only offered in the Japanese market.

I’ve noticed a weird sound coming from the engine at 40kmh and 50kmh, and only when those speeds are maintained. If I’m accelerating above that, I don’t hear the noise. The noise is kind of like a high-pitch hum, with a sort of whirring aspect to it.

I’ve heard that it might be the radiator fan making that noise but wanted to get a second opinion before I bring it to a mechanic.

Hi,

This model isn't offered in the US, so I have little technical information.

Chances are this vehicle has electric fans. They shouldn't make noise only at a specific speed, but anything is possible.

By chance, is it loud enough for you to record and upload for me to hear? That would be helpful.

Let me know.

Joe

It’s hard to hear at low volume, but there’s a pretty noticeable difference when the noise starts up around 5 seconds in.

Hi,

I believe I heard it. Have you checked the condition of the air filter or for engine vacuum leaks? If you haven't, I would suggest it.

Here is a link that explains how to locate and repair vacuum leaks:

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
