Recently installed a drive shaft. Now reverse is very sluggish and almost act like it doesn’t want to back up. Also, when I’m riding down the road the truck runs great but when I let off the accelerator a whining noise starts and if I push the accelerator down again the noise stops immediately. Any ideas?

Hi,

When you replaced the drive shaft, were the universal joints also replaced? Did everything align easily for you?

Let me know.

Something is either different, went together wrong, or you have bad u-joints. It really shouldn't have been difficult. Are you certain the driveshaft that was used is the same as the original? Also, here is a link that explains how to check u-joints:

Removal and replacement directions:

Let me know if anything in the links help.

Take care,
Joe
