We do not have keys. Can I start it anyway without keys

It's been sitting for years and I want to see if I can start it. I can't find the keys. Got new battery but no keys. Please is there any way I can start the pinto

Select park, jump power from battery to coil (+) this will give you ignition, remove small signal wire from starter solenoid, make a starter switch by using to lengths of wire, one end fit a female terminal to fit over the starter terminal, fix other end to one terminal of a push button switch, second wire fit to other terminal on switch and the last end goes to battery (+)push the button and the starter will turn, do not try and jump by shorting out the starter terminal with a screw driver as this can damage the starter.
