Yesterday while driving in freeway temperature gauge began rising and by the time I reached home about ten minutes later it was beyond the H. There was no smoke coming from engine or any other overheating signs.
After allowing car to cool checked coolant and added some then turned on car approximately ten minutes later water began shooting up from area between coolant reservoir and radiator. Any idea as to what problem is?

Good evening.

It sounds like it sprung a leak from excess pressure from overheating.

Can you post a picture of what you see?

Did you replace the thermostat?
