Do I need gasket sealer when fitting?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

No sealer is called for. Just make sure both surfaces are clean and dry. Make sure to tighten the bolts to the proper torque which is listed in the directions. The attached pictures correlate with these directions.

Here are the directions for removal and replacement:

WATER PUMP
Removal
1. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding.
2. Lower the vehicle.
3. Remove the water pump belt. For additional information, refer to Engine.

4. Remove the water pump drive pulley.

5. Remove the water pump.
- Remove and discard the gasket.

Installation


See Picture 1


1. NOTE: Install a new gasket.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Tighten to 10 Nm.

2. Tighten to 11 Nm.
