If your water pump goes out will the car continue to start and run?

Hello,

Yes, for a little while. It will not be cooled and it will eventually overheat and the cylinder head will warp causing a head gasket failure. Also if the bearing completely fails it will lock up causing the serpentine belt to shred, but, clearly, the main problem will be the overheating issue. I hope that this helps.
