Can you have an internal leak with this water pump? I have seen antifreeze seeping into the timing chain area while doing a timing chain and head job. The only way I could get it to stop was to remove a 13mm drain plug on the bottom of the water pump housing. Could this be a sign of a faulty pump? I thought this pump was to leak to the outside. Can this come from not completely draining cooling system?

Hello,

Yes, there should be no coolant coming out of the water pump at all. Usually they have a weep hole in the bottom so that when the bearing starts to fail and coolant starts to leak around it it has somewhere to go rather than collecting in the bearing and causing the bearing to seize. In the diagrams down below I have included the Original Equipment Manufacturer [OEM] part number for your vehicle's water pump as well as the instructions for the removal and installation of your vehicle's water pump from the vehicle manufacturer. Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex
