Water leaks from underneath the car.i suspect some pipe broke.what could possibly cause that?

Hello,
Usually when you have a coolant leak it is caused by a cut in a hose or a gasket that seals parts together has failed. Water pumps are designed with a weep hole to allow the coolant to leak out when the bearing goes bad on them otherwise the coolant would collect in the failing bearing causing it to freeze up. Here is a leak below explaining how to do a pressure test on your vehicle's cooling system that will show you where the leak is coming from:
