And is this the front or rear, driver or passenger side? They are all different part numbers. There is a big difference in the 2006 depending on the vehicle's gross weight. So, if you can find the truck's gross weight, it should be listed on the door frame tag on the driver's door,
The 1st diagram below is the part numbers for the 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L 2wd, and all the rest are the part numbers from a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L 2wd. So, you can compare the part numbers for your truck. Some from both years are the same, really just depends on the weight of the truck, so there will be adequate braking power.
