It all depends on the specific warning light that is illuminated.
Can you tell me which warning light is on?
There are warning lights for low oil pressure, faulty charging system, brake system, and several others.

Is your service engine light on?
If so you need to get it scanned to retrieve the error codes. If you do not have a scanner, you can visit your local auto parts store and they will scan it for free of charge.
