Hi,

My car could not start the engine today (perhaps the accumulator is exhausted) and a warning light comes up on the dashboard during the car is turned off. It is red car with key on it.

I found the warning light in the manual and it says "when the key is removed from the ignition switch, the anti-theft warning light will start to flash" (Google translate from Italian). Could this mean that the start engine is blocked for some reason or just an indication that this feature is turned on and working?

Could someone tell me what it means?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Veneta

Hello,

This is because the security system in engaged which can be because of two things. First is the key has lost its code in which case the car will need to be reprogrammed or the system protocol has got mixed up somehow. Disconnect the battery for thirty minutes then reconnect the battery. Then using the remote unlock the doors and retry the system.

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken

Hi Ken,

The problem with not starting the engine, in this case was that the accumulator was exhausted. When charged it, the engine start as normal and there was no other problem related to the security system.

Thank you for paying attention and for the advice, it will be helpful in case security system issue comes up.
