Lost power while driving, will not crank

I was driving down the road and it just lost power. I thought it was going to be the fuel pump, but if your pump still turns on and it is working and I’m thinking is the crankshaft positioning sensor. but I’m not sure.

Does the engine crank over (starter working?) it sounds like the battery might have shorted out if not these guides can help us fix it:
