my car screen shows the following statment (brake fluid low urgent service) what does it mean?

It means you are low on brake fluid. Have the brakes checked out. Low brake linings will cause the fluid to go low. Also a leak will cause the fluid to go low and can be very dangerous if you run out of fluid.
