2001 Volvo XC70 clunking

My car started making an alarming noise today. I think it's coming from the right front wheel area. I makes clunking noises when I make any kind of turn--even a lane change. Any ideas?

drive on a flat dry surface with the windows unrolled slowly turn far right, then turn far to the left, notice any ticking noises? in reverse?

if so suspect cv joint issue

when driving down the road do you hear a droaning noise/ if so check the wheel bearings.

any looseness in the wheel check wheel bearings and ball joints.
