My car just starting making a clunking noise on the way home from work today. The noise is coming from the front passenger side, seems worse when going over bumps (even seams in the road), and is not present at idle. The noise is not repetitive, and appears randomly when driving. What's going on?

Time for an inspection at a tire and alignment shop. Some clunks are relatively minor but that is not a chance you want to take. If a worn ball joint or tie rod end separates you won't know which way the car is going to go, . . . into the tree in the ditch or the truck on the other side of the road.
