what can be the cause of bad starting.this is a 2.5 tdi

WHAT EXACTLY IS THE ENGINE DOING AT START UP? DOES IT START AND THEN DIE? DOES IT CRANK AND CRANK AND DOES NOT START? DOES IT START BUT THEN RUNS POOR/SPUTTERS? ARE ANY INDICATOR LIGHTS ON?

when you crank engine it smokes and take ages to start.i have done glow plugs air filter ,fuel filter and oil and filter.it does start better when warm.

HOW MANY IGNITION KEYS DO YOU HAVE?? ALSO, WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO START THE ENGINE, ENGINE JUST CRANKS AND CRANKS, AND EVENTUALLY STARTS?
