We purchased our car in 2000, new but with 18,000 on the clock-told that it had been used by the managers of the garage. It is now five years old & started to have problems with the engine 'stuttering' a bit like kangaroo petrol, well it has been diagnosed with fuel pump problem & it needs replacing-should this be right for a 5 year old car which has been well looked after?

have you driven with fuel level low, 1/4 or below? that is very harsh on the fuel pump and can make one go out very quickly.
