V40 brakes

I have a 2000 V40 with 109000 miles. Lately I noticed that when I back out of the garage and stop to shift from reverse to drive the brakes are not stopping the car as normal (slip). This is only if the car set for a couple of hours. I drive a mile and stop for the trafic light the brakes work nornal. Any suggesions?

When the car has sat for a few hours before you drive it open the hood, take the cap off the master cylinder, and have someone step on the brake gently, then release the brakes, do you see any turbulence an the master, if not the compensating port coul be sludging up a bit. Getting your fluid changed could help...A 2000 with this high mileage may need a few hydraulic parts by now!
