Suggest that they check the gap clearance on the compressor clutch. The spec calls for 0.3mm to 0.5mm
Get a feeler gage greater then 0.5mm. If it goes in then You can try to remove some the shims to adjust the gap on the compressor. If you can not get it down to spec then the clutch will need to be replaced.

I removed a shim from my clutch for the same problem

I measured the gap and was lucky to get it down to 0.3mm. My S80 now blows cold again. What happens when the clearance is too wide, when the metal gets hot it expands and makes the clearance even wider. So as the compressor clutch cycles on and off when it goes off eventually the clearance is too wide that the magnet can not pull the clutch back in. Keep me posted please. What dealership is your car at?

The dealership has a open ticket on it, because they could not make the ac stop working. So we picked it up last week & drove it to Oakland about 1 hour away & it happen again. That is the Ac stopped working, the bower was not working well either. We stop & turned the car off for about 15 minutes. Then it worked fine. Then drove home again about 1 hour & it stop working agin. THEY DON'T KNOW & CAN NOT FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. Do you have any other idea's?

Thank You for asking.

If they just left the vehicle idling for hours then it will not cut off. They actually will need to drive it to make it quit. Have you asked them to check the compressor clutch clearance?

The other problem could be a thermal switch, if the evaporator core freezes the fan cant blow air through the fins, reducing cooling, and making the blower seem like it's not blowing enough air. You might have 2 problems.
