I have been working on a Volvo that has not been ran for 4 to 5 years. I have it started and idling well, however when I press the accelerator pedal the RPM's will not go over 1100. I have tried it in every gear, but it seems that the engine is lacking power.

How is your charging system? You have an electronic throttle on this and if you fall belowe 10 volts the throttle does not responde very well. Also have you scanned the engine control module for codes? If you have codes posted for throttle problems VOLVO has a 10 year 200k mile warranty.

Starting and charging system is good. I have 2 codes P1600 and P1603; both are internal throttle problems.

O.K. due not reset the codes. Take to your VOLVO dealership. The throttle is covered by a 10 year 200k mile extended warranty.
