I beieve I ran out of gas this morning. Had someone put $15 put in the tank while I was at wohrk. When I got back to my car around 5:45pm and I tried and tried to start it for a long time but it wouldn't start. I was wondering if it could be the pump inside the gas tank?

Check the fuel pressure if it's within specs to rule out the fuel filter and fuel pump.
