engine sputters and then stalls....is it fuel filter?

Disconnect the mass air flow sensor. If your vehicle runs ok after that then you have a faulty mass air flow sensor. Also if you want to know about fuel pressure you will need to hook up a fuel gage and see what the pressure is.
